Archangel (Samaria, Book 1)
I like Sharon Shinn's writing, but this one didn't work for me. Partly because I didn't really like Rachel that much, and it's hard for me to get into a novel where I don't emphasize with the main protagonist. I also wasn't drawn in by the main relationship, since it was dominated by arguing and misunderstanding.
